Gypsum, as a mineral, plays a crucial role in various industrial and construction applications. However, due to its high moisture content and significant viscosity, the utilization of gypsum has been restricted in the past, thus failing to fully showcase its potential value. With the introduction of gypsum dryers(gypsum rotary dryers), this situation has changed. The processing of gypsum typically begins with loading it onto a feeder machine using a forklift, followed by uniform conveyance to a belt conveyor via the feeder machine. Subsequently, it is guided into the interior of a drying machine through a feed pipe. Under the combustion of the fuel in the thermal oil furnace, heat is transferred to the main unit via the thermal oil, where it undergoes thermal exchange with the gypsum. Within the drying drum, the gypsum is stirred by scraper blades, ensuring thorough contact with hot air, thus accelerating the drying process of gypsum and facilitating the evaporation and heat and mass transfer of moisture.
With the continuous development of comprehensive utilization of gypsum resources, gypsum drying has become an inevitable trend, and various calcination processes are concurrently evolving. Currently, major processing methods include direct heating gypsum rotary kiln, indirect heating gypsum rotary kiln, rapid calcination using airflow, fluidized bed calcination, and pan calcination.
